    In the current context of digital transformation, it is timely to re-examine the traditionalmodel of exclusively in-person medical conferences. This reflection analyses the true cost of thisformat—including economic, professional, and personal dimensions—as well as the availableevidence on the effectiveness of online and hybrid models in continuing medical education. It alsodiscusses the influence of funding structures on the design of educational events. Finally, it advocatesfor the adoption of deliberately designed hybrid formats, focused on educational impact andimproved accessibility for healthcare professionals.
