- PublicationOpen AccessHISTORIA DE LOS CONCEPTOS Y FILOSOFIA POLITICA EN CARL SCHMITT(2015-07-06) García, RománThe essay deals with the bond between the methodological branch and the criticism of Schmitt's work, and between the function of political concepts in the development and configuration of modern political Europe and the critique of modernity that the concept of the political introduces. Schmitt's legate signifies, in the work of the historiographer of concepts Koselleck, in a sort of urbanization of the schmittian territory, that tries to underline the evidence of political concepts.
- PublicationOpen AccessHISTORIA DE LOS CONCEPTOS Y RESPONSABILIDAD POLITICA: UN ENSAYO DE CONTEXTUALIZACION(2015-07-06) Villacañas Berlanga, José LuísThe history of concepts aims to be the scientific witness of a period that was immersed in endemic differences (class, national, international blocs), as a consequence of ideological and revolutionary radicalisation of the modern project and the no less violent reactionary responses. With the history of concepts the last proposal of scientific and political integration, the Weberian one, is left behind. Today, both testimonies are of radical importance in order to avoid new phenomenon of idealogisation, total politicisation and political fundamentalisms.

It sets up how the metaphores of mirrow and horizon work within conceptual history on the basis of the opposition between metaphor and concept which summarizes the antagonism between Koselleck theoretical proyects and Blummemberg's ones. It explains how the transcendental hypothesis of conceptual history theory are deconstructed pointing out their ontological, antropological and political limits.

The thread is the last contribution of Melvin Richter to the controversy between the History of Concepts (Begriffsgeschichte) and the History of Ideas of anglosaxon tradition, between the german academic lexicography and the analytic current of thought, and its importance in political philosophy.

Thomas Hobbes ha sido objeto de muy variadas y contrapuestas interpretaciones1: para algunos, como Leo Strauss, Lacour-Gayet o Harold Laski, el gran publicista del siglo XVII es el campeón del absolutismo en su sentido más despótico; para otros, como Carl Schmitt o Eric Vögelin, se trata del jurista decisionista que ha descubierto el origen existencial de la política. Asimismo, ha sido considerado como un absolutista pre-liberal, es decir, como uno de los teóricos que ha permitido el nacimiento del Estado liberal moderno. John Neville Figgis, Passerin d'Entréves, Franck Coleman, C.B. MacPherson, Perez Zagorin o el autor del Hobbes y el pensamiento político moderno, Yves Charles Zarka, tienden a subrayar la influencia del iusnaturalismo hobbesiano sobre la política liberal. Sin embargo, esta versión de Hobbes tropieza con numerosas dificultades. Ante todo, porque el Leviatán se halla muy lejos de los pilares del constitucionalismo moderno. Así, ni admite la separación entre el soberano y el representante supremo, ni la soberanía popular o de las leyes, ni la división de poderes, ni la censura política, ni el federalismo. Por eso, esta nota se propone, siguiendo el hilo de la obra de Zarka recientemente traducida, indicar algunas deficiencias de esta interpretación de Hobbes.
- PublicationOpen AccessActualidad o inactualidad de adorno(2015-07-06) Lastra, AntonioParafraseando un lema clásico, podría decirse que el objeto de la crítica es la intención. En la medida en que el profesor Cabot haya penetrado en esta monografía la «intención original de Adorno» (pp. 138 y 154), habrá logrado el propósito de su libro y despejado con ello el camino para la lectura. Cuantas menos dudas queden al respecto, sin embargo, más exigente será su actitud ante los críticos: el lector de Adorno, en efecto, espera mucho del lector de Cabot. Es preciso, entonces, seguirle en lo que explícitamente dice sobre el pensamiento de Adorno y la «crítica de la modernidad», antes de señalar los caminos que, practicables para el primer tipo de lectores, permanecen infranqueables para el segundo. La intención de Adorno sólo es previa a la intención que verdaderamente nos importa.
- PublicationOpen AccessHISTORIA CONCEPTUAL COMO FILOSOFIA POLITICA(2015-07-06) Duso, GiuseppeEl debate sobre los conceptos de la vida política y social, en relación con su determinación y con el ámbito histórico en que son significativos y aplicables, ha conquistado hoy una relevancia fácilmente perceptible. Así, se ha difundido una atención crítica cuyo síntoma es, por ejemplo, el uso cada vez más raro del término Estado para referirse a la polis griega o a la filosofía política de Platón o Aristóteles, o el del sociedad del medievo para referirse a las presuntas relaciones exclusivamente sociales carentes de contenido político. Análisis de historia de los conceptos acompañan también muchos trabajos científicos sobre temáticas sociales y políticas. Sin embargo, no es un asunto sencillo entender qué se quiere decir con historia de los conceptos o historia conceptual, y a qué se apunta o cómo se organiza el trabajo que tales expresiones pretenden explicar.
- PublicationOpen AccessDE CEGUERAS Y ANSIEDADES(2015-07-06) Villacañas Berlanga, José LuísLa muy precisa, elegante y pedagógica introducción al fascinante pensamiento de Hans Blumenberg que ha realizado Wetz viene a llenar un vacío en la filosofía española que se hace penoso. De la obra de Blumenberg en traducción directa no tenemos en España sino un par de muestras, muy limitadas y parciales: Naufragio con Espectador y La inquietud que atraviesa el río, en cierto modo su continuación más irónica, ya más referida al presente, y por eso más increíblemernte deliciosa todavía. Pero sus grandes obras están por llegar al público hispanohablante. Dudo, sin embargo, que lleguen algún día. El traductor de unos de sus libros al italiano, y uno de los más fáciles, desde luego, La realidad en la que vivimos, me decía enojado: «Jamás traduciré a Blumenberg. No hay oro en Italia para compensar ese trabajo». A pesar de toda su maldición, Il Mulino, un verdadero faro para la cultura europea que se alza bajo este símbolo nuestro, quijotesco, desde Bologna, ya ha traducido sus grandes obras: Trabajo sobre el Mito, La Legibilidad del Mundo, Tiempo de la vida y tiempo del mundo y La pasión según Mateo. Otra editorial ya ha editado su monumental Legitimidad de la odernidad, de la que también hay una edición en Harvard. El traductor de esta obrita, que ha trabajado de manera impecable en su versión, ha dado una muestra de su altísima valía, no sólo como traductor del alemán, sino como hombre de cultura. Al brindarnos esta magnifica versión del libro de Wetz, le debemos nuestro agradecimiento.
- PublicationOpen AccessEXPERIENCIA Y POLITICA EN LA HISTORIA CONCEPTUAL(2015-07-06) Oncina Coves, FaustinoMy contribution is an attempt to examine the political background of Reinhart Koselleck's Begriffsgeschichte, both in its metodological and theoretical aspects. This author has indicated the elective affinities between a conceptual history attached to the textual specific sources, from one side, and an epistemology of history with trascendental and extra-textual ambitions, from the other. A halfway position corresponds to the historical semantics, paradigmatically applied to the transition from Absolutism to the French Revolution. Habermas and the Cambridge School (Pocock and Skinner) have confronted the ideologically partial description of this step, and the metodology employed for it. According to Habermas, satanization of publicity and public opinion as casus belli, wich excludes both of them as principle of political rationality, reveals the schmittian filiation of Koselleck. The trascendental doctrine of history, the Historik, is conservative because it masks the interest of finding a continuity with the most fateful past of Germany. Pocock denounces the extrapolation of a methodology valid only for the German national culture, that is, the germanization of all the conceptual history. In front of the accelerated times of modernity, in wich the two main metahistoric categories -experience space and horizont of expectation- achieve, because their maximum assimetry, the greatest visibility, Koselleck aims to slow cautiously that frenetic rhythm with a balance between tradition and future. But Koselleck does not profit the potential of criticism and self-criticism implied in his contributions because his lack of will to questioning, in his own case, the dynamic tensions between concept and structure or the versatility of the notion of praxis (as hermeneutic application of sense, or as intervention at long-term in the world). The Begriffsgeschichte contains all the ingredients to the reflection on a public use of history or historic reason. In its public use, he would plead for a retrospective inquire on the meaning of an imputation of responsibilities, in a prospective search to come to a reciprocal understanding among the citizens.

Modern political concepts are complex and controversial, being the formulation of their meaning an important requirement to solve the problems of present age. This essay collates the diferences and similarities of the History of Concepts and the historiography of political discourse, and hints the aporetical nature of the political concepts.
