- PublicationOpen AccessContribución al conocimiento de la ictiofauna bentónica del Mar Menor (SE. España) y su distribución bionómica(Universidad de Murcia, Servicio de Publicaciones, 1985) Ramos Esplá, Alfonso A.; Pérez Ruzafa, Ángel; Facultad de BiologíaTwenty-one fish species belonging to seven families have been sampled in the Mar Menor. an hyperhaiine coastal lagoon. The more abundan1 preferential species are: Gobius cobiris and Blennius pavo, on shallow infralittoral rock; Pomaroschisrus microps, Callionymus risso and Solea vulgaris, on shell fine sands; Syngnarhus abaster, Hippocampus ramulosus. Gobius niger and Millerigobius macrocephalus, on Cymodocea-Caulerpa beds. The enlargement of one of the sea openings (El Estacio) is producing changes in the Mar Menor ecosystem. These changes are commented at benthic ichthyofauna level.
- PublicationOpen AccessMarine biology: an ecological approach.: reseña bibliográfica(Universidad de Murcia, Servicio de Publicaciones, 1985) Ros Aragonés, Joandomènec; Facultad de Biología
- PublicationOpen AccessLa simbiosis algal en Elysia timida risso 1818. Primeros resultados(Universidad de Murcia, Servicio de Publicaciones, 1985) Ros Aragonés, Joandomènec; Rodríguez, José; Facultad de BiologíaPreliminary ecological. microstructural and metabolical results are presented of a study on the symbiotic relationship between the Saccoglossan Opisthobranch Elysia timida, from the Mar Menor hypersaline lagoon (Murcia. SE Spain). and its algal chloroplasts. The intimate metabolical relationship is demonstrated from different points of view and using different techniques: cytological study through electron microscopy; primary production of the chloroplasts through the measure of the produced oxygen and of the incorporated I4C. etc. Some data on the biology of the species in its lagoon habitats complete the paper. which closes with a consideration on the work to be still done on the subject.
- PublicationOpen AccessBiomasa, estacionalidad y distribución de tres macrófitos: Ruppia cirrhosa, Cymodocea nodosa y Caulerpa prolifera en el Mar Menor (Murcia, SE. de España)(Murcia: Universidad de Murcia, Servicio de Publicaciones, 1985) Ballester, Ramón; Facultad de BiologíaThe first data are presented on the ecology of three macrophyte species widely distribuited in the Mar Menor lagoon (SE Spain). The annual cicle. distribution and biomass was studied during an entire year. Twenty sampling stations were selected in a seasonal extensive study by means of dredging. and another sampling station was intented t« study intensively the community (monthly samples). The results show a seasonal development for the three species. The biomass and LA1 followed a similar pattern in the course of the year. with increasing values from spring to summer and a declive in autumm and winter.
- PublicationOpen AccessAspectos ecológicos de la polución atmosférica: estudio de casos en la Región de Murcia(Universidad de Murcia, Servicio de Publicaciones, 1985) Galindo Salmerón, C.; Ramírez-Díaz, Luis; Torres Martínez, Antonio Ángel; Facultad de BiologíaThe most outstanding aspects fo air pollution have been hibliographically revised: the influence of the physical environment, polluting sources and ecological effects on hiogeochemical cycles and living organisms. as well as economic and legal factors. Special attention has been paid to the incidente of a region's capacity to support air pollution. in relation to ist ph5ysical environment and land planning. This study has approached two remarkable regional cases in SE Spain: Cartagena and the urban agglomeration of Murcia and its surroundings.
- PublicationOpen AccessCaracterísticas ambientales y fisiográficas de interés edafogenético del barranco de Leiva (Sierra Espuña, Murcia)(Universidad de Murcia, Servicio de Publicaciones, 1985) Ortiz Silla, Roque; Baños Jiménez, J.; Facultad de BiologíaAs a basis for a pedogenetic study. a description is given of the main features of the physical environment to which the soils of the Leiva ravine. in the Northeast of Sierra Espuña (Murcia. Spain). belong. The lithology of the area under consideration is made up 01' consolidated limestone rocks and detritical heterometric calcareous materials. The moisture regime of the soils is xeric, the temperature regime. mesic. 'Three potential associations ni' vegetation can be distinguished according to altitude. 'The topography is uneven. with generally steep slopes and hydrographic network courses of torrential type.
- PublicationOpen AccessPlanificación territorial y medio ambiente de 1.a Región de Murcia: reseña bibliográfica(Murcia: Universidad de Murcia, Servicio de Publicaciones, 1985) Martín de Agar, Pilar; Ramírez-Díaz, Luis; Facultad de Biología
- PublicationOpen AccessCartografia ecológica de la fauna y organización del territorio: aproximación al caso del Mar Menor y sistemas adyacentes(Universidad de Murcia, Servicio de Publicaciones, 1985) Martín de Agar Valverde, María del Pilar; Esteve Selma, Miguel A.; Ramírez-Díaz, Luis; Facultad de BiologíaThe need for including faunistic and ecological aspects in studies of land use has been analyzed. either from a methodological point of view or taking into account animal populaticins of great interest. l'his survey has been located the in Mar Menor lagoon and its ecological surroundings. Essentially, populations of molluscs, cmstaceans. reptiles, fishes. birds and mammals have heen used. The method of work has been hased on characterizing homogeneous environmental sectors with regard to subatratum, relief. vegetation and degree of human activity. By field extensive prospection. analysis of available bibliographical sources, as well as information obtained from other investigators. the ecological characterization of these animal communities has heen obtained. Twenty eight faunistic units have been considered in all. whose description comprises structure. fiinctioning. dynamics. and environmental conditions, closely related to the taxonomic operational components of the study. Finally besides aspects of conservation and exploitation in relation to the studied animal populations. the present day environmental conditions along the coast of the Mar Menor lagoon have been studied too.
- PublicationOpen AccessEl reto científico y sociocultural de la educación ambiental(Universidad de Murcia, Servicio de Publicaciones, 1985) Ramírez-Díaz, Luis; Facultad de BiologíaA critica1 revision -in the way of an essay- of the theoretical and practica1 aspects underlying environmental education is presented. The relationship between the scientific training (formal and experimen- tal) and the knowledge acquired through environmental education is studied. Special attention is paid to the aspects derived from the relationships between environmental education and the habits, attitudes and behaviours, as well as the present-day trends of educative research in the field of environmental pedagogy.
- PublicationOpen AccessLas adaptaciones de las plantas en las dunas litorales del sureste de España(Universidad de Murcia, Servicio de Publicaciones, 1985) Alcaraz Ariza, Francisco José; Garre Belmonte, Manuel; Alcaraz Ariza, Francisco José; Facultad de BiologíaAs a result of studies on the flowering plants and vegetation in the sand dunes of Southeastern Spain, some observations have been made on the main morphological adaptations of the psammophilous plants. These adaptations have originated in order to resist substratum mobility, aerial salinity and wind effect.
