Abstract
El turismo es uno de sectores económicos más importantes del mundo, da empleo a una de cada diez personas en todo el planeta y proporciona trabajo a cientos de millones más ( O. M. T., 2020). Y en España su importancia es vital. Es el segundo país receptor de turistas ( O. M. T., 2019). Con la l legada de la Covid -19, la industria turística mundial está sufriendo unas consecuencias inimaginables pocas semanas antes de su aparición. La l legada de esta pandemia ha hecho que el turismo, en todas sus vertientes, haya desaparecido en este país, hasta el punto de que ciudades vitales y bulliciosas gracias al turismo, actualmente se encuentren desérticas. El objetivo de este artículo es dar a conocer las opiniones de directivos y profesionales de hoteles y restaurantes de toda España sobre esta anómala situación que, según previsiones, va a alterar por completo el turismo tal y como hasta ahora se ha venido desarrollando.
Tourism is one of the most important economic sectors in the world, employing one in ten people worldwide and providing work for hundreds of millions more ( UNWTO, 2020). And in Spain i ts importance is vital. It is the second receiving country for tourists ( UNWTO, 2019). With the arrival of Covid -19, the global tourism industry is suffering unimaginable consequences a few weeks before i ts appearance. The arrival of this pandemic has mea nt that tourism, in all i ts aspects, has disappeared in this country, to the point that vital and bustling cities thanks to tourism are currently deserted. The objective of this article is to make known the opinions of managers and professionals of hotels and restaurants throughout Spain on this anomalous situation that, according to forecasts, will completely alter tourism as i t has been developing until now.
