Nuestra Señora de La Estrella, en un contexto estratigráfico
bien definido dentro del Conjunto
arqueológico del castillo de La Estrella de Montiel. Se trata de una pieza de especial relevancia,
ya que la ap
arición de este tipo de monedas
y más en contextos arqueológicos, es aún es muy
reducida. Del mismo modo, la lo
calización de este cornado, relaci
onado con las Compañías
Blancas
en Montiel, lugar donde tuvo lugar el regicidio de Pedro I en 1369, cobra especial
significado desde el punto de vista de la contextualización histórica del hallazgo.
The following study is about a Santa Orsa type recovered during the archaeological excavations carried out in 2014 inside the church dedi cated to La Estrella virgin, in a well - defined stratigraphic context within the Archaeological Site Castle La Estrella (Montiel, Ciudad Real). It is a numismatic piece with a special relevance, as the appearance of this type of coin in archaeological conte xts, is still much reduced. Likewise, the location of this cornado, related to the White Companies, in Montiel, has a special relevance as this is where the regicide of Pedro I took place in 1369.
