Abstract
La Sierra de Alcaraz y el Campo de Montiel (Provincia de Albacete) están cobrando un
protagonismo creciente. La presencia de recursos de valor ambiental o histórico, además de
otros recuperados recientemente, han despertado el interés de la administración, los grupos
de desarrollo rural, los turistas y los empresarios. La conjunción de esfuerzos pone de manifiesto
la necesidad creciente de corregir e introducir nuevos elementos capaces de mejorar
los elementos del sistema turístico. La Vía Verde de Alcaraz (antiguo ferrocarril en desuso
actualmente recuperado para uso turístico) ha servido como elemento de referencia para la
puesta en marcha de un proyecto de recuperación integral de la comarca.
ABSTRACT The Alcaraz Range and the Campo de Montiel (in the province of Albacete) are getting a growing importance. Resources of environmental and historic value, as well as some others recently retrieved, have drawn attention from the authorities, rural development groups, tourists and businessmen. Different efforts have combined to show an increasing need to correct and introduce new elements which are able to improve the tourist system. The Alcaraz Rail Trail (former railway, obsolete and adapted for tourist use) has been used as an element of reference in order to set off a project of integral recovery in the region.
