dc.description.abstract	La presente investigación dirige el foco de análisis hacia el desajuste que se produce en las aulas universitarias a la hora de desarrollar las competencias transversales y la relevancia que el alumnado le confiere para su futura inserción socio-laboral. Apartir de una investigación cuantitativa y una metodología tipo encuesta, participan 1610 universitarios de último curso de Grado distribuidos en cinco universidades diferentes (con representación en 3 países, España, Italia y EE.UU.) con la cumplimentación del Cuestionario de Orientación e Inserción Laboral (COIL). Los principales resultados muestran una relevancia superior al desarrollo de dichas competencias durante su formación universitaria, siendo la iniciativa del alumnado (innovación, liderazgo o emprendimiento) donde se haya un mayor déficit competencial, mientras que el trabajo en equipo o la responsabilidad y perseverancia son las competencias donde la diferencia entre el desarrollo y la relevancia son más escasas. También existen diferencias según la universidad, el género o la realización de prácticas extracurriculares; unos resultados que permiten concluir la necesidad de ampliar el debate sobre la formación en competencias transversales en la educación superior, así como sobre el papel que debe desempeñar la orientación profesional para acompañar en el proceso de inserción laboral de los futuros egresados.
dc.description.abstract	This research focus on the analysis of the soft skill mismatch that occurs between its development during the university training and the relevance that students give to this type of competences for entering the workforce. Based on quantitative research with a survey as a methodology type, 1,610 final year undergraduated from five universities in three countries (Spain, Italy and USA) have participated. They have completed the Questionnaire About Career Guidance and Entering the Workforce (COIL, in Spanish). The main results show levels of relevance given to these skills higher than the work developed during their university training. The competences related to the initiative of the students (innovation, leadership, or entrepreneurship) show a higher skill deficit, while teamwork or responsibility and perseverance are the competences where the difference between development and relevance are scarcer. These results also show statistical differences when the competencies are analyzed according to the university, the gender of the students, or whether they have carried out extracurricular internships. In conclusion, the debate on the aims and objectives of training in transversal skills in higher education must be amplified as well as the role that career guidance should play to accompanythe process of entering future graduates.
