dc.description.abstractEl artículo presenta una encuesta de campo realizada en 1980 sobre los restos de la tradición del «Árbol de Mayo» o simplemente «El Mayo» en la actual región de La Rioja. Hay una diferencia notable entre la tradición de la parte occidental de la tierra o Rioja Alta y la parte oriental o Rioja Baja. El árbol de mayo se ha seguido poniendo en toda la Rioja Alta hasta el segundo tercio del siglo XX, mientras que en la Rioja Baja había sido substituido por usos cercanos a la celebración popular de la Pascua Florida.
dc.description.abstractThis article presents a survey conducted in 1980 about the remains of a tradition called «Arbol de Mayo» or «El Mayo» in the region of La Rioja. There is a remarkable difference between the tradition of the western area or Rioja Alta and the eastern area or Rioja Baja. The «Arbol de Mayo» (May tree) has been placed every year everywhere in the Rioja Alta until the second third of the 20th century, whereas in the Rioja Baja it has been substituted by analogous traditions used for the popular celebration of the «Pascua Florida»
