Abstract
Resumen: Las expresiones idiomáticas son unidades
lingüísticas que resultan difíciles de entender
y memorizar, en particular en el caso de
hablantes no nativos. Frente a su complejidad
formal y a la sensación de arbitrariedad que
suelen provocar, este trabajo hará hincapié en
ciertas estrategias motivacionales capaces de
ayudar a los alumnos a desarrollar un proceso
de aprendizaje más cognitivo, evitando así
el simple estudio de memoria. Para ello y
como complemento a un enfoque basado en
el establecimiento de un vínculo motivado
entre la faceta icónico-literal y el sentido
figurado (motivación semántica), se explicarán
diferentes técnicas que permiten centrar la
atención del estudiante en la estructura formal
de estas expresiones en francés (sobre todo en
lo que atañe al orden de sus componentes y a su
selección léxica) y hacerlo más consciente de
su posible carácter no arbitrario.
Abstract: Idioms are language units that result difficult to understand and remember, in particular for non-native speakers. To face their formal complexity and the perception of arbitrariness they generally provoke, the way of exploiting motivational strategies that could help L2 students develop a more cognitive learning process and avoid the mere study by heart will be highlighted. To this end and as a complement of the approach based on the establishment of a motivated connection between the iconic- literal dimension and the figurative meaning (semantic motivation), some techniques aiming to make students more aware of the structural elaboration of idioms in French (mainly related to the internal word order and the lexical composition) and the possibility of its non- arbitrary nature will be explained.
