Abstract
Este artículo trata sobre las representaciones y presentaciones de la identidad femenina en el trabajo performativo de la artista mexicana Lorena Wolffer. La creadora, inserta en un contexto de narcocultura, explora alternativas artísticas a la estetización e invisibilización de la violencia proyectada sobre el cuerpo femenino. A través del estudio de caso de sus trabajos Territorio Mexicano (1995-1997), If She Is Mexico, Who Beat Her Up? (1997-1999), Mientras dormíamos (el caso Juárez) (2002-2012) y Expuestas: registros públicos (2007-2013) plantea y denuncia la violencia extrema contra las mujeres, ofreciendo estrategias creativas e intervenciones culturales participativas para sanar a las víctimas y transformar la realidad.
This article deals with the representations and presentations of female identity in the performative work of the Mexican artist Lorena Wolffer. The artist, inserted in a context of narco-culture, ex-plores artistic alternatives to the aestheticisation and invisibilisation of violence projected onto the female body. Through the case study of her works Territorio Mexicano (1995-1997), If She Is Mexico, Who Beat Her Up? (1997-1999), Mientras dormíamos (el caso Juárez) (2002-2012) and Expuestas: registros públicos (2007-2013), she raises and denounces extreme violence against women, offering creative strategies and participatory cultural interventions to heal the victims and transform reality.
