Abstract
El objetivo de este trabajo es el análisis comparativo entre la novela El gallo de oro, escrita hacia el año 1958 y publicada por primera vez en 1980, y la versión cinematográ ca realizada por Roberto Gavaldón en 1964. No se pretende realizar una investigación sobre el valor literario de la novela de Rulfo -tema ya debatido en distintas ocasiones- sino analizar la huella de Rulfo en la película, la mayor o menor delidad al texto, la similitud de recursos expresivos, los planteamientos temáticos coincidentes y divergentes y, en de nitiva, si la densidad ideológica y la calidad literaria de la obra han sido convenientemente aprovechadas en la adaptación fílmica.
This paper tries to carry out a comparative analysis between the novel El gallo de oro, written towards 1958 and rst published in 1980, and its lm version done by Roberto Gavaldón in 1964. The paper does not intend to research on the literary value of Rulfo's novel, something which has already been established in the past, but to analyse Rulfo's footprints in the lm version, i.e. the degree of faithfulness to the written text, the similarities on the use of linguistic resources or the coincidence/diversion on thematic issues. All in all, the idea is shed some light on whether the novel's ideological density as well as its literary quality have been adequately portrayed in the fllm.
