Abstract
En este trabajo pretendo comunicar algunos hallazgos relevantes sobre impresos de
clásicos latinos publicados en España en los primeros decenios del s. XVI. Siguiendo
el orden cronológico, vamos a detallar algunos datos sobre: a) la edición y
ejemplares de la traducción parcial del libro XIII de las Metamorfosis de 1519, b)
la edición y ejemplares de la traducción de Valerio Máximo de 1529, c) verificar
la no existencia de dos ediciones de 1529 y 1541 de Valerio Máximo que se
mencionan en algunos de los principales catálogos de los impresos del periodo y
d) por último, identificar correctamente algunos ejemplares de las ediciones de
Quinto Curcio. Estos hallazgos se derivan del trabajo previo para la creación de
la base de datos BECLaR sobre ediciones españolas de clásicos latinos.
This work highlights some noticeable discoveries related to classical Latin prints published in Spain in the early 16 th century. Following the chronological order, the following points are examined in detail: a) the edition and preserved volumes of the 1519 Ovid’s partial translation of Metamorphoses, Book 13, b) the edition and preserved volumes of Valerius Maximus’ translation published in 1529, c) verification of the non-existence of the two editions of 1529 and 1541 by Valerius Maximus mentioned in several main catalogues of the imprints of that period and, finally, d) accurate identification of some preserved volumes of Curtius Rufus’ editions from that epoch. These findings derivate from the earlier research carried out for creating the database of BECLaR regarding Spanish editions of Latin classics.
