Abstract
Mediante una investigación cualitativa llevada a cabo con nifios de Preescolar y lº y 2e cursos de EGB (de 4 a 8 años), se intenta comprender el pensamiento matemático en la etapa de transición entre el conocimiento informal y el primer aprendizaje escolar, a través del examen de los errores cometidos en la resolución de problemas aritméticos de enunciado verbal. Se describen los errores y se analiza su presencia según cursos y niveles de rendimiento.
Troogh a qualitative type of research applied io Preschool and first and second grades (4 to 8 years of age), this paper tries to get an ins ight of the mathematical think ing in the transition stage between the informal knowledge and the first formal learning of children by examining the errors incurred while trying to solve arithmetic word problems. A description of the errors is given and its occurrence is analyzed in terms of school grades and proficiency levels.
