Description
Abstract
Antropoceno.
As long as «fraternity» is considered a modern value, we should conclude that the crisis of modernity in the late 20th century would have some impact in how «fraternity» is conceptualized and experienced in the present. In this article, we link the crisis of fraternity with the crisis of humanism and the critiques to the modern project made in the 1980’s and the 1990’s. We choose Bruno Latour’s proposal of a relational ontology as the cornerstone of a political response widening fraternal practices and solidarity to the non-humans. This response should be the first step in the development of a brand, new cosmopolitics for the Anthropocene.
