Description
Abstract
literar
io.
This research proposed the dismemberment of the notion of “total novel” through the systematic dismantling of the Conversaci ón en La Catedral of Mario Vargas Llosa and verify that said totalizing notion is essentially a literary artifice. From a qualitative approach, a type of hermeneutical research was chosen to fully understand the problem studied. The notion of dismantling i s not intended to reveal truths from a certainty external to what is studied; but part of the logic that establishes it to check it in a specific literary work for its coherence or not. In this case, the notion of "total novel" is sketched by Vargas Llosa himself and other Latin American Boom authors. And it ends up being incorporated into the literary canon by literary criticism. However, the novelty of this work is not to result in theoretical successes or coincidences, but to propose an interpretive “dis mantling” with the rules of those who formulated it and reveal its essence of literary artifice.
