Description
Abstract
In this article we analyze the weight of 481 units of 10 0 peseta coins auctioned by some of the most important auction companies in Spain during the years 2015 and 2016. 355 coins are very fine and the remaining 126 are extremely fine. By year, 249 units are *66, 171 coins are *67, 58 are *68 and only three uni ts are *70. We calculate the weight of every coin in order to compute the average weight and the tolerance of these coins using the analysis of variance approach. The goal is to check if the average weight and tolerance of each year and grading correspond to the values stated in the Law 12/1966 that established their creation.
