l presente artículo
se
repasa brevemente cómo la crítica hasta ahora ha
hablado de
Roberto
Bolaño
(1953
-
2003)
en relación a su identidad nacional,
haciendo especial hincapié en las propuestas de Patricia Espinosa, Celina
Manzon
i e Ignacio Echevarría.
Al mismo tiempo, basándome en la
relativamente reciente bibliografía que post
ula la existencia de una
literatura posnacional
, planteo la posible pertenencia del escritor a este
heterogéneo marbete
.
Lo posnacional en la literatura significa aceptar que
el Estado
-
nación sufre un proceso de erosión y desgaste que comenzó en la
segunda
mitad del siglo pasado y que continúa hasta nuestros días, como
consecuencia de lo que Frederic Jameson llama
capitalismo tardío
. La
literatura, producto y al mismo tiempo herramienta descriptiva de dichos
cambios, deviene entonces un espejo que ilustran
las obras de escritores
como Salman Rushdie, Haruki Murakami, Philip Roth, Thomas Bernhard o,
en el caso que nos ocupa, Roberto Bolaño.
Este artículo forma parte,
convenientemente adaptado, de la Tesis Doctoral “La otra América:
influencia de la literatura
estadounidense en Roberto Bolaño”.
The present article briefly reviews how academia has yet comment Roberto Bolaño's figure (1 953 - 2003) linked with his national identity e.g. the works of Patricia Espinosa, Celina Manzoni and Ignacio Echevarria. In the following pages a postnational vision of Bolaño’s work is suggested as a framework for its comparative study. Postnational litera ture implies understanding the idea of literature being both a product of the recent global changes but also a must - have tool for understanding and describing those events. This article is based - partially adapted - on my PhD dissertation: "The other Americ a: influence of US Literature in Roberto Bolaño"
