Description
Abstract
Acute coronary syndromes are a group of clinical entities with a common denominator: the partial or total obstruction of a coronary artery by a thrombosis caused by rupture or erosion of a vulnerable plaque. The relative value of classic markers, myocardial damage variables, and levels of acute-phase reactants in establishing the pre-discharge prognosis of acute coronary syndrome without ST-segment elevation was analyzed. We propuse to evaluate these markers in serum of patients admitted from our chest pain unit with diagnosis of acute coronary syndrome without ST-segment elevation and a group control. PCR-hs concentrations were determined using an inmunoturbidimetry technique, NT pro-BNP and TnT-hs were determined using electrochemiluminescence techniques.
