Description
Abstract
ABSTRACT This article is an exercise of a tourist monograph in form and content, and a claim for a model of Mediterranean tourism that not necessarily needs reinvention for success. The island of Sicily is the model chosen because it presents some characteristics that blend the traditional sun and beach with the ecotourism, the cultural and the sports tourism. Despite to benefit of the same resources as many other parts of the Mediterranean, isolation could be a resource that reinforces the elements of attraction, its location in the Mediterranean, its natural landscapes, historical and artistic heritages and its cities.
