Abstract
Se describen y proponen tres metodologías cualitativas que pueden ser aplicadas al estudio de la población vulnerable usuaria de las bibliotecas públicas: La entrevista, la observación participante y el grupo de discusión. Con objeto de validar estas metodologías, se describe el proceso de utilización de las mismas en una investigación realizada en la Biblioteca Regional de Murcia, en la que se logró profundizar en las motivaciones y principales usos, la interacción social en la biblioteca, los efectos de la crisis en la organización bibliotecaria y en estos usuarios y su grado de competencia y empoderamiento digital. Se concluyó la utilidad de estas metodologías para los estudios de usuarios logrando identificar factores que escapan a las técnicas estadísticas, como los distintos discursos sobre la socialización que tiene lugar en la biblioteca y la valoración que hacen los usuarios vulnerables de las relaciones y los aprendizajes que realizan en la misma.
Three qualitative methodologies that can be applied to the study of the vulnerable users of public libraries are described and proposed: The interview, the participant observation and the discussion group. In order to validate these methodologies, it is described the process of using them in a research carried out in the Regional Library of Murcia, in which we researched the motivations and main uses, the social interaction in the library, the effects of the crisis in the library organization and in these users and their degree of competence and digital empowerment. It was concluded the usefulness of these methodologies for user studies, identifying factors that are beyond statistical techniques, such as the different discourses on socialization that take place in the library and thier valuation of relationships and learnings that they perform there.
