Abstract
En el presente artÍculo se hace una síntesis de las concepciones básicas en el
estudio del aprendizaje de los alumnos. En la primera parte hemos abordado la
orientación cuantitativa en la que se hace hecho una descripción de la perspectiva
conductista y la perspectiva congitivista. En la segunda hemos esbozado las características
más importantes de la orientación cualitativa, distinguiendo entre las
investigaciones llevadas a cabo desde una concepción de estilos de aprendizaje y
desde la de enfoques de aprendizaje, destacando en esta última los trabajos de
Marton, Entwistle, Biggs, etc.
In this paper a synthesis is made of the basic tenets underlying the field of student leaming. In the first part a description is made from a quanitative perspective of both hehaviourist and cognitive theories. In the second, the most important characteristics of the qualitative approach are outlined. A distintion is drawn between leaming styles and leaming approaches in educational research, paying special attention to the contributions by Marton, Entwistle and Biggs.
