Abstract
En este trabajo analizamos, desde un punto de vista pragmático-discursivo,
el empleo de ironía en un corpus conformado por transcripciones de
diferentes tertulias periodísticas de tema político emitidas por la radio y la
televisión españolas. Tras proponer una taxonomía de los diferentes tipos
de enunciados irónicos localizados en el corpus, los analizamos desde una
perspectiva pragmático-discursiva, prestando especial atención a los
empleos de enunciados irónicos usados como mecanismo de descortesía,
una de las funciones más frecuentes en esta situación comunicativa
específica. Por último, ofrecemos un análisis cuantitativo de los enunciados
irónicos observados, atendiendo a parámetros tales como el medio de
difusión del programa, y el sexo y rol del hablante. A partir de la realización
de esta investigación podemos establecer que la ironía constituye un
recurso altamente utilizado en esta situación de comunicación y que,
aceptando su naturaleza polifuncional, es esencialmente empleado como
mecanismo descortés y argumentativo.
The purpose of this paper is to analyse how ironic utterances are used in a corpus made by political talk shows broadcast on TV and Radio. To investigate the question, a taxonomy of ironic utterances found in the corpus is proposed. Those ironic utterances are analysed from a pragmatic perspective, with a particular focus on the impolite function, characteristic of this specific communicative situation. Finally, the results of a quantitative analysis are shown, taking into account the media of the programme, and the sex/role of the speaker. The paper will conclude the high presence of ironic utterances in the political talk show, where they might be used as impolite and argumentative mechanisms.
