Description
Abstract
In the 1990s, the Spanish poet Álvaro García developed his poetry, that would make of him one of the most influential authors of his generation. His aesthetic program comprehends an emptying of subjectivity in the poem and a greater autonomy of the poem with respect to the experience. This paper offers the first academic study of the development of this idea in Álvaro García. In addition, the essay establishes the literary sources of this poetic thought and proposes to understand it as a reaction and criticism against contemporary poetic practices, that will open the path to the generations that follow.
