Acerca de las dificultades de ser políticamente correcta: el discurso de Cristina Fernández sobre les migrantes

dc.description.abstract	El presente trabajo analiza qué imagen construye la ex presidenta de la Argentina, Cristina Fernández, acerca de les1 migrantes. Para ello, seleccionamos sus cuatro alocuciones públicas del año 2012 que hacen referencia al tema de les migrantes para observar de qué manera se refiere a elles y con qué tipos de acciones les asocia. Consideramos que Fernández se aleja del discurso xenófobo que asocia a les migrantes con la inseguridad o la crisis económica. No obstante, dos elementos no le permiten construir un discurso novedoso: 1) refuerza el lugar común de que todos les argentines son descendientes de inmigrantes y, particularmente, de inmigrantes europees; 2) al resaltar la laboriosidad de les migrantes, les coloca en trabajos poco calificados, con lo cual resalta una visión utilitaria y de subordinación de le extranjere en la sociedad argentina. dc.description.abstract	The aim of this paper is to analyze the representation of migrants constructed by the former president of Argentina, Cristina Fernández. In order to accomplish this, we select four public speeches of the year 2012 that refer to migrants in which we will show how she refers to them and with what types of actions she associates them. We believe that Fernández moves away from the xenophobic discourse that associates migrants with insecurity or economic crisis. However, two elements do not allow her to construct an emergent discourse: 1) she reinforces the platitude that dictates that all Argentines are descendants of immigrants and, in particular, of European immigrants; 2) by highlighting the laboriousness of migrants, she places them in low-skilled jobs, thereby highlighting a utilitarian and subordinate vision of foreigners in Argentine society.
