Abstract
numerosas fuentes documentales: corporativas, municipales,
notariales, privilegios, ordenanzas, empresas, negocios.
The Crown of Aragon during 14th-16th centuries underwent a significant renewal of studies concerning economic development and institutional change. Craft guilds are beginning to be seen as highly flexible institutions depending on the diverse sectors of production, the geographical areas and historical time. The research about textile industry in cities, but also in numerous rural areas, has shown a lot of confraternities and craft guilds. One of the most important examples is the Silk Art of Valencia, which has been studied based on a prosopographic methodology using in turn further available documentary information such as: municipal, notarial, privileges, ordinances, enterprise and business sources.
