Abstract
El estudio de la documentación histórica depositada en el Archivo Municipal de Cartagena, refuerza la
tesis de que la vegetación potencial de la Comarca de Cartagena no es un espinar de palmito y espino, como
podría pensarse por la opinión de algunos autores, sino una maquia levantina de coscoja, lentisco y palmito,
correspondiente a la asociación Chamaeropo humilis-Rhamnetum lycioidis.
The study of the historical documentation stored in the municipal archive in Cartagena we come to the conclusion that the potential vegetation in the area of Cartagena is not only a thorny scrub of palmetto and black thorn, but a levantine macchia of kermes, lentisc and palmetto.
