Madrid durante el primer cuarto del siglo XVII.
Se trata de una obra de aventuras en la que destaca
el carácter didáctico de estas páginas, con amplias
descripciones de costumbres, fiestas y ambiente de
esta época, caracterizada por sus luces y sombras.
Existe, además, una pormenorizada descripción
del funcionamiento de los corrales de comedias
donde Lope de Vega representa una de sus obras
de teatro,
