Abstract
El objetivo de este trabajo es revelar la estructura territorial del turismo en la ciudad de San Cristóbal de Las Casas, en el estado de Chiapas, México. La investigación se compone de dos secciones: la primera esboza la base natural, histórica y social que soporta el crecimiento turístico en el área en estudio; la segunda identifica los elementos en torno a los que se organiza el turismo en el territorio: los recursos y servicios turísticos, los canales espaciales de circulación de los turistas, así como los flujos que éstos originan desde ámbitos nacionales y del extranjero.
The aim of this work is to reveal the spatial structure of tourism in the city of San Cristobal de Las Casas, in the state of Chiapas, Mexico. The research is divided into two major parts: the first outlines the natural, social, and historical base that supports the growth of tourism in the study area, while the second identifies the elements around which tourism is organized in the territory: resources and tourist services, means of transportation, and tourist flows.
