Poeta en Nueva York y Dialéctica de la Ilustración responden tiempos, estilos e intereses distintos. Sin embargo, entre estas obras cabe iluminar algunas afinidades en su descripción del mundo del capitalismo tardío que se halla, cada vez más, envuelto en el manto del mito.
