dc.description.abstract	The aim of the present study was to analyse body composition (BC), aerobic capacity (AC) and heart rate (HR) of young footballers. 139 players of Real Murcia F.C. participated, aged 10 to 14 years (average age 11.82 ± 1.32, average height 1.53 ± 0.11 m., average weight 43.89 ± 10.01 kg). The variables measured were BC (Tanita BC 418-MA), AC (Course Navette Test 20m) and HR at rest and after exercise (finger pulse oximeter OXYM2001). Significant differences by age were observed; older players had greater skeletal muscle mass and greater aerobic capacity than younger players. The players analyzed had lower fat mass, higher skeletal muscle mass and higher aerobic capacity than subjects of the same age that did not practice football.
dc.description.abstract	El objetivo fue analizar la composición corporal (CC), capacidad aeróbica (CA) y frecuencia cardiaca (FC) de jóvenes futbolistas. Participaron 139 jugadores masculinos del Real Murcia C.F con edades comprendidas entre los 10 y los 14 años (edad media 11.82 ± 1.32, altura media 1.53 ± 0.11 m, peso medio 43.89 ± 10,01 kg) pertenecientes a las categorías alevín, infantil y cadete. Se evaluó la CC (Tanita BC 418-MA), la CA (Test Course Navette 20m) y la FC en reposo y tras el ejercicio (pulsioxímetro de dedo OXYM2001). Hubo diferencias significativas según la edad, observándose un aumento de masa muscular esquelética y de capacidad aeróbica al aumentar la edad de los futbolistas. Los futbolistas analizados tuvieron menor masa grasa, mayor masa muscular esquelética y mayor capacidad aeróbica que los sujetos no practicantes de fútbol de la misma edad.
