Description
Abstract
viajó a Francia, Suiza e Italia.
europea, 1914-1915 (1915) y A cuchillo. Episodios
de la guerra europea. Francia, Suiza, Italia
During the First World War many Spanish writers were hired by journals and newspapers to cover the War in Europe. This study approaches the journalistic work of Eduardo Zamacois, a Spanish writer of Cuban origin, during those years. Working for La Tribuna, a pro-German newspaper in Madrid, Zamacois traveled through Europe and visited France, Switzerland, and Italy. For several months he published his chronicles in the paper, and he offered his readership a vivid account of what was happening in Europe. He was well aware of the multiple obstacles a journalist would have to affront in order to develop his job, but notwithstanding he was able to write a rich and varied corpus of texts that are carefully conceived in their discursive and ideological architecture.
