Description
Abstract
theoria recepta
.
Beyond the debate about its authenticity or forgery, the Praene ste fi bula became a subject of research and scientifi c dissemination, in which F. Stolz and A. Ernout played a very signifi cant role. This paper will deal with this process of dissemination a nd legitimation from a particular point of view: the transfer of knowledge about the fi bula to the emer gent study of the Historical Linguistics of Latin in Spain, during the fi rst and second decades of the twentieth century. As was expected, this transfer helped spread Stolz and Ernout’s academ ic works. This historiographical analysis of Linguistics will show the process by which a concre te area of knowledge goes from a novelty to a theoria recepta .
