Description
Abstract
Abstract: The aim of this work is to review the contemporary contractarian approach to Business Ethics, as well as to defend its validity as a foundation for Business Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). On the one hand, J. Rawls’ approach is on the basis of T. Donaldson & T.W. Dunfee’s proposal and their ‘Integrative Social Contracts Theory’. On the other hand, the contractarianism of D. Gauthier has been the inspiration of the recent theory of CSR as ‘an Extended Model of Corporate Governance’ of L. Sacconi. We will explore both proposals, as well as their strengths and weaknesses
