Description
Abstract
ABSTRACT: There is taking place a multidisciplinary investigation concerning mineral sediments accumulated by decantation in closed deposit of water obtained from underground explotations (mineshorizontal galleries) located all around Tenerife. The objective of those investigations is to analyze different possibilities for using sediments in artistic processes: ceramic sculpture, mortar or resin castings, fresco paintings, oil paintings or acrylic paintings, lineal or wash paintings, and serigraphs. Different analysis and studies demonstrate that those materials meet the conditions to confirm perpetuation, applicability and aesthetic interests, therefore opening a new line of experimental investigation in which converge three basic aspects: 1. Extension in the catalogue of resources available in the artistic creation area; 2. Reusing resources; 3. Value of natural materials from volcanic environments.
