Description
Abstract
The ultimate aim of education is to offer every girl and every boy the possibility of knowing themselves and the world around them better so that they can get freer. To do so it is necessary to recognize the irreducible singularity of who we are: men and women; and to be able to translate that recognition into educational practices. Does the school make it easier for girls to find their place in the world so that they can get to be themselves? The emphasis on equal rights and emancipation is important to get rid of inequalities but, is it enough to create feminine liberty possibilities? It is not. Practices which value women’s knowledge in an environment where girls and boys can express themselves and see their differences recognized are necessary. That is to say, an environment together with practices that enable girls and boys to be themselves is called upon.
