Abstract
Una serie de indicadores socioeconómicos y tecnológicos de los países hispanoamericanos se utilizan como marco de referencia de la alfabetización infor-macional. Asimismo, con base en indicadores bibliométricos y de una revisión de la literatura se discute el estado de la alfabetización informacional en la región, seña-lando sus fortalezas y debilidades.
ABSTRACT: A series of socioeconomic and technological indicators of Hispanic American countries are used as a frame of reference of information literacy. Also, bibliometric indicators and a literature review serve as the ground to discuss the state of information literacy in the region pinpointing their strengths and weak-nesses.
