Abstract
Este artículo se interroga sobre la relación entre lo común y la institucionalidad en el
contexto de la crisis ecosocial. El punto del que partimos para ello, explicitado en el primer
apartado, se encuentra en la concepción política de lo común, que entiende que la comunidad
política no precede a la negociación y gestión de una serie de bienes comunes sino que la
pertenencia a la comunidad política es consecuencia de ese hacer en común: de la participación,
discusión y deliberación que es posible en democracia. Dedicamos el segundo apartado a analizar
la interacción de crisis ecosocial y la crisis de confianza en las instituciones políticas
representativas como el marco de la discusión. Finalmente, el tercer apartado despliega la
propuesta de la praxis instituyente de lo común a partir de los principios que dan forma a la
democracia deliberativa, esbozando así una conexión fructífera entre la institucionalidad y lo
común mediada por la implicación directa de la ciudadanía.
This paper looks into the relationship between the commons and institutions in the context of the socio-ecological crisis. As explained in the first section, our starting point is the political conception of the commons, according to which the political community does not precede the negotiation and management of certain commons. Rather, belonging to the polis results from such common action—i.e., from participation, discussion and deliberation made possible by democracy. The second section frames the debate within the interplay between the socio-ecological crisis and growing disaffection with representative political institutions. Finally, the third section advocates an instituent praxis of the commons based on the principles that shape deliberative democracy, thus outlining a fruitful connection between institutions and the commons supported by the direct engagement of citizens.
