dc.description.abstract	Se ha investigado el concepto de abandono a través de la percepción de personas extuteladas del sistema de protección en España, focalizando el análisis de este en tres momentos cruciales: la separación de los menores del núcleo familiar de origen, el período de estancia en el centro de protección, y la salida del centro y del sistema de protección. Se realizaron entrevistas semiestructuradas a ocho personas que estuvieron en acogimiento residencial, al menos dos años, desde 1990 y hasta la actualidad. Transcritos los relatos se plasman a la luz de tres categorías preeminentes en las historias de vida de los protagonistas: 1) el abandono inicial (físico) por parte de la familia y la entrada en el centro de protección; 2) el abandono emocional durante la estancia en el mismo; y 3) el abandono institucional a la salida del sistema. Los entrevistados se han sentido abandonados por sus familias, pero también por el sistema de protección, quien los ha desvalorizado y no les ha prestado suficientes apoyos. La experiencia vivida ha provocado en las personas tuteladas un fuerte impacto emocional que persiste en la edad adulta. Se concluye que, el sentimiento de abandono tanto familiar como institucional está omnipresente en la vida de todos los entrevistados y en toda la secuencia temporal de sus acogimientos, sin que ello se modifique desde las experiencias de 1990 y hasta las últimas de 2020. Se proponen algunas alternativas como medidas de acogimiento residencial o potenciar la figura de la parentalidad profesional.
dc.description.abstract	The concept of abandonment was researched through the perceptions of people formerly in the foster-care protection system in Spain, focusing the analysis on three crucial moments: the separation of minors from their nuclear family of origin, the duration of their stay in the protection center, and the departure from the center and the protection system. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with eight people who had been in residential foster care for at least two years between 1990 and today. The transcribed stories depict three predominant categories in the life histories of the protagonists: 1) initial (physical) abandonment on the part of the family and entry into the protection center; 2) emotional abandonment during the stay; and 3) institutional abandonment upon exiting the system. The interviewees felt abandoned by their families, but also by the protection system, which devalued them and failed to provide them with sufficient support. The lived experience during their foster care caused a strong, emotional impact that lasted into their adult years. The feeling of abandonment, both on a family and institutional level, is pervasive in the lives of all the interviewees in all moments of their foster care and has not changed since their experiences in 1990 up to the most recent experiences in 2020. Several alternatives to this abandonment feeling by foster-care individuals are proposed, including measures such as reinforcing the figure of professional parenting in residential foster care.
