Description
Abstract
Epístola a Teodoro
This two-part paper outlines the fi ndings of my own exegetical investigations of the Mystical Gospel of Mark. In Part One, I examine the only surviving passage from the Mystical Gospel of Mark, a concise yet mysterious version of the raising of Laz arus that concludes with an evening of instruction. I proposed that the best way to dete rmine its meaning and origin is to consider how it functions within its literary context, as an ep isode within the tenth chapter of the Gospel of Mark . In Part Two, I will look at what the Letter to Theodore itself indicates about this gospel and its use in the church in ancient Alexandria
