Abstract
J. J. Fux, compositor de la corte del Sacro Imperio Romano, es recordado en la actualidad principalmente por el tratado de composición que, bajo el título de Gradus ad Parnassum, publicó en Viena en 1725. De esta obra –de magnas proporciones y escrita en latín– se conoce sobre todo la parte centrada en el estudio del contrapunto. Pero en ella se abordan temas, como el referido al gusto, que tan enconados debates desató en el Barroco. Fux dedica a esta cuestión un breve capítulo, cuyo texto ofrecemos tanto en versión original como en traducción al castellano, acompañado de notas y comentarios. -------
J. J. Fux, composer of the court of the Holy Roman Empire, is remembered nowdays thanks to the treatise of composition Gradus ad Parnassum, published in Vienna in 1725. Of this work –of great proportions and written in Latin language– is known especially the part centered in the study of the counterpoint. But other topics are covered, such as the question of taste, which so fierce debates unleashed in the Baroque. Fux devotes to this subject a short chapter, whose text we offer in original version and in Spanish translation with some notes and comments.
