Abstract
El presente proyecto pretende abrir un camino hacia la consolidación del modelo turístico de La Orotava por medio de su patrimonio particular, existente en una gran parte de las viviendas privadas del municipio. El modelo de casa-museo o el de Museo de Artes Decorativas están aún en fase de gestación en Canarias, es por ello que un proyecto de esta envergadura, aunque ambicioso, tiene el rango de pionero, pues abre un ámbito poco explorado en el archipiélago.
Por medio de proyectos como este se pretende hacer una aproximación integral hacia el
patrimonio donde prime no solo el valor de la pieza sino también su contexto, cariz social y cultural, asociado a una sociedad que determinó en muchos aspectos, el devenir de Canarias.
Un proyecto, en definitiva, que aboga por ahondar en la eficaz musealización del patrimonio integral de La Orotava, intentando reflejar su identidad, mediante la atención a los componentes materiales e intangibles. De forma paralela, también subyace en esta motivación, un esfuerzo por consolidar la oferta turística de la isla, complementando el comportamiento vacacional tradicional con nuevas propuestas que fomenten la desestacionalización, en aras de un modelo turístico sostenible.
This project aims to open a path towards the consolidation of La Orotava’s tourist model through its particular heritage, existing in a large part of the private homes in the municipality. The house-museum model or the Museum of Decorative Arts are still in the gestation phase in the Canary Islands, which is why a project of this size, although ambitious, has the rank of pioneer, since it opens up a little-explored area in the archipelago. Through projects like this, it is intended to make a comprehensive approach to heritage where not only the value of the piece prevails but also its context, social and cultural aspect, associated with a society that determined in many aspects, the future of the Canary Islands. A project, in short, that advocates delving into the effective musealization of the integral heritage of La Orotava, trying to reflect its identity, by paying attention to the material and intangible components. At the same time, this motivation also underlies an effort to consolidate the island’s tourist offer, complementing the traditional holiday behavior with new proposals that promote seasonal adjustment, in the interests of a sustainable tourism model.
