Abstract
The increase in survival and life expectancy has led to a rise in the prevalence of chronic diseases in old ages, being cognitive impairment the most prominent one. Currently, there is not an available treatment that can cure the gradual development of its symptoms, so it is of vital importance to implement an intervention that improves the quality of life. Following the inductive and analytical methods, it is proposed the design of multi-sensory stimulation therapies adapted to people individual needs. Those therapies were carried out on a population of 11 people over 65 years of age with a diagnosis of neurocognitive disorder, who attended Poncemar Day Care Center, in Lorca. After this implementation, a statistically significant difference was found between the first and the second evaluation, improving about 73% of the patients, which shows that our therapies were effective
