Abstract
Este artículo constituye un examen de la actuación de la Diputación Provincial de Barcelona desde la proclamación de la Primera República en 1873 hasta su final por el golpe de Estado de Pavía en enero de 1874. En particular, sigue una actuación extraordinaria en relación con los intentos de proclamación del Estado Catalán y la ordenación cantonal de la provincia de Barcelona en el contexto de la guerra civil contra las partidas carlistas. Proyectos puestos en práctica con la actuación de las milicias republicanas encabezadas por diputados republicanos que permiten sustentar la tesis de un cantonalismo de guerra fruto de las necesidades bélicas al comprobar la existencia efectiva de Confederaciones Regionales Municipales en la provincia de Barcelona a lo largo del verano de 1873 por obra de la Diputación republicana-federal.
This article is an examination of the performance of theProvincial Deputation of Barcelona from the proclamation of the First Republic in 1873 to its end by the coup d'état of Pavia in January 1874. In particular, an extraordinary action follows in relation to the attempts to proclaim the Catalan State and thecan-tonal organization of the province of Barcelona in the context of the civil war against the Carlist parties. Projects put into practice with the action of the re-publican militias headed by republican deputies that allow to sustain the thesis of a cantonalism of war fruit of the war needs to verify the effective existence of Municipal Regional Confederations in the province of Barcelona throughout the summer of 1873 by the work of the Republican-federal Deputation.
