Description
Abstract
“sabiamente acordado”: σ"στασις λ0γων.
Between the songs of the Iliad, nineteenth is the one with the highest proportion of direct speeches. We intend to show the “logical” and “psychological” order linking them, because if Aristotle praises in Homer's work the unity of action, that is, the unity of the myth (σ"στασις πραγμ*των, cf. de arte poet. 1450 a 15), also in the order of the expression (λ.ξις) the series of speeches of each song – XIX is a prototypical case – is revealed as a whole “wisely agreed”: σ"στασις λ0γων.
