Abstract
La serie de monedas de bronce “Año 1 de Roma” es una de las más enigmáticas del siglo I a.C. Esta amonedación refleja el establecimiento del dominio romano en Siria, en donde debió acuñarse, y su leyenda parece referirse a la toma de control de este territorio por el general romano Cn. Pompeyo Magno (cos. I 70 a.C.) en el año 64/63 a.C.
Abstract: The “Year 1 of Rome” bronze coin series is one of the most enigmatic of the 1st century BC. This coinage reflects the establishment of Roman rule in Syria, where it must have been minted, and its legend seems to refer to the taking control of this territory by the Roman general Cn. Pompey the Great (cos. I 70 BC) in 64/63 BC.
