Description
Abstract
Alain de Benoist’s work is one of the most notorious attempts of philosophical, political and discursive renewal of the extreme right after the Second World War. De Benoist exemplifies through his own person and his intellectual proposal, the radical turn towards the cultural war assumed by the New Right. In this article, we approach Alain de Benoist’s metapolitical conception link to his reflection about the German conservative Revolution and Carl Schmitt’s analysis of the political. From both interpretations, it is deduced the deep anti-liberal imprint present in all his work. It is concluded with a characterization of De Benoist’s thought as a right-wing populist.
