Description
Abstract
After a long evolution in their lifecycle, the tourism destinations located along the Alicante coastline have reached a consolidation or maturity stage, apart from being characterised by an occupancy model with a clear residential orientation which not only generates serious environmental and socio-economic impacts but also causes effects on the actual tourism sector dynamics. Hence the urgent need to undertake strategies aimed at renewing and diversifying the supply, which requires a rational exploitation as well as the revaluation of some clearly underused resources as a way to create new products. In this sense, the assets present in the natural milieu, and more precisely natural parks, offer interesting chances to achieve this goal.
