Description
Abstract
The greatest change in the Catholic liturgy post Vatican II was the opening up to the commu-nity. And one of the ways the faithful could participate was precisely through the songs used in the cer-emonies. The objective of this piece is to analyse the substantial changes that took place in the repertoireof liturgical music in village or neighbourhood parishes after the proposals made by the Second VaticanCouncil, concentrating our investigation on the parishes of Campo de Cartagena. Many of the ideas stat-ed here are comparable in the vast majority of Spanish parishes, since, while there are certain changes inthe repertoires, the main body of songs used is basically the same.
