Description
Abstract
Since 1991, this project has promoted the participation and the social integration of the elderly through the relationships they can establish with the students of five different schools. During the school year the older people go to these schools to teach what they know and to transmit their historic and cultural legacy. The children also share different activities with the elderly at the retirement center. This relationship offers each child the opportunity to meet older people, to share experiences and to be close to their most recent history. The elderly can continue being the protagonists of their own history, and their present and they can also contribute to society with their knowledge and experience as point of reflection for the young people.
