Description
Abstract
ABSTRACT: Violence against women in Central America and the Spanish Caribbean has some specific characteristics that are not seen in other countries around the world. This does not mean that the region lacks traditional manifestations of violence such as violence from the partner. Artists in these countries have been worried about condemning and criticizing sexist violence as well as the institutions and governments for the little attention given to the problem. Artistic projects that take the issue as theme take account of the two points o view: the global gender based violence, and the regional type that is seen in Central America and the Spanish Caribbean only.
